Don Wiegand is working in conjunction with the Pentagon on a special award called the "Spirit of Hope Award" in honor of Bob Hope. The award will be given to individual Americans who have really made a difference. The bust sculpture of Bob Hope will be on permanent display in the Pentagon with an adjacent list of recipients to which new recipients will be added each year. The debut of the Spirit of Hope award medals will be in Washington, D.C., in November of 2007.
Don allowed the children on the tour to try on the Spirit of Hope Medal, which weighs over a pound and is sculpted and cast in bronze.
